Owen Waygood a joint l’ÉSAD en 2012 comme professeur adjoint dans le domaine de la planification des transports. Il s’intéresse à la façon dont l’environnement bâti nous affecte, en particulier sur la façon dont nous voyageons, mais aussi sur les plans social, environnemental et économique. Il a également étudié le rôle de l’information dans les applications de transport, en particulier les informations disponibles sur les émissions de dioxyde de carbone. M. Waygood a publié des recherches sur les voyages des enfants (japonais et britanniques), les étapes de la vie, les effets de cohorte, l’utilisation des informations pour les voyages plus respectueux de l’environnement, et les impacts psychologiques liés à l’interprétation des informations sur le taux de CO2 atmosphérique.

Owen Waygood a occupé un poste de chercheur au Centre for Transport & Society en 2012. Il a obtenu un diplôme de doctorat en comportement des transports de l’Université de Kyoto en 2009, une maîtrise en biomimétique de l’Université de Toronto en 2005 et un diplôme en génie mécanique et d’informatique de l’Université de Saskatchewan en 2001.
